Gianni Zattarin (Venice, Italy.)

Painter, sculptor, and “nobilizador” (a technique that consists on owning another art piece, remake it, enrich it, and give it back differently; “signing over another signature, but taking on the art piece, acquiring it if you want to” just as it was written by the well known Italian art critique Giorgio Celli).
It is considered an Italian plastic teacher, “an innovative man who fills with pride the arts” as it was said by the Italian ambassador here in Costa Rica at the conference in Pueblarte. (9/09/2004)
Figurative and abstract, he uses the collage, the assembling, and the scenic art resources. This tireless traveler has made more than 200 individual expositions and 300 collective ones. Many of his art work is found in important museums around the world: Madrid, Stockholm, Moscow, San Marino, Paris, New York, and Rome.
His mainly erotic work does not isolate the surroundings, cultures, which are kept in maps of embedded women bodies such as violins and flowers-cocoons-female genitalia, in which poetic texts are highlighted, and always shown the scent of his beloved Venice, his oldest partner such as women, as it was said by him “they are the origin of everything, the world revolves around the woman”. Zattarin is a visual musician that reminds us that detail in front of our eyes, but that we do not admire until we see one of his paintings.

He was the winner of the second place at the fourth International Biennial in Madrid, Spain.
